'Knights of the Round Table, The' (1953): A classic retelling of King Arthur

The story of king Arthur and his knights have been for centuries. From the pulling of the Excalibur sword from the sacred stone. To the forbidden romance between Maid Marian and Sir Launcelot. This medieval England story has never been forgotten and still fascinates. This classic 1953 technicolor film retells the story in its own unique way.  The costumes are simple and colourful and brings the personality of each historical character to life. The fight scenes are as many people would imagine during the conquest for land in those days. The acting is exceptional and the dialog is jovial and even witty at times. Richard Thorpe directed more than one film with Robert Taylor and this is one of the them. Despite the actor's annoyance of portraying in medieval films. Classic films don't always do excellent jobs of retelling historical stories. On the contrary, they bring attention to them. Which sparkles out own interest in learning. Therefore, we can't say it didn't do it...

Love Those Classic Movies!!!: Johnny Eager (1941) "Taylor 'n Turner = TNT!": Long before the TNT Channel their was Taylor and Turner

Love Those Classic Movies!!!: Johnny Eager (1941) "Taylor 'n Turner = TNT!" : Johnny Eager (1941) / MGM Studios Directed By: Mervyn LeRoy Starring: Robert Taylor, Lana Turner, Edward Arnold, & Van Heflin ... Not a Joker and Harley Quinn film, but a bit of similarities between them. Johnny and Lisbeth have profound chemistry (OFF CAMERA as well) as well as facing trouble. They aren't Bonnie and Clyde but they're a great pair.

Why Kathleen Woodiwiss first popular and controversial novel 'Flame and the Flower, The' is still talked about

Bodice historical romances was a sub-genre of novels which aided the sales in romance literature back in the 70's. Explicitly publishing physical passion, never before attempted and Miss Woodiwiss was the first author bold to do so. There was literally over two and one in a half million copies in print. The title of the book actually is inspired by a poem which is included in it's first pages. However, the story isn't quite romantic and is an emotional roller-coaster, as known in modern-day vernacular. Kathleen went on to write other Bodice Historical Romances until her passing in the late 2000's. But this debut was what put her on the map in the book World. When somebody reads the blurb of the book. It sounds like it could be an incredible story. With traveling from one country to another. Escaping a horrific situation before it gets ugly. Some Cinderella inspiration and unsuspecting dashing man sounds romantic enough.  Yet the main characters of this novel are a coupl...

Why some don't date and leave it to fate

Imagine if you will a couple is on a date. They're having a nice meal and talking about various things. It seems like a relationship is flourishing. However, there are times when it may not be. Especially when they start to get to know each other better. One of them mentions something about family member. It's nothing humorous nor disturbing. The other person makes a response that's insensitive or rude. During the meal, the other individual insist they split the bill, even though the other person is in no financial position to do so. Not to mention they never even offered.  It's even worse when they found out they haven't gotten over a previous partner. Still gazing at their social media accounts. To add insult to injury, they say they want the relationship to only last for 30-60 days. Emphasizing they don't see this progressing further. They believe feelings are pointless and everything should just be superficial.  This is obviously what they call a rebound so ...
