Why film noir was and is a popular genre of film

Film noir may not be religious but covers the elements of the human mind and choices we make. This genre of film is more than just crime and suspense. It unveils the desires of the characters and what motivates them. They explore the pros and cons of various businesses, be it insurance and casino . Even though not any are the main theme, film noir touches on subjects such as discrimination , mistreated, same sex attraction and familial conflict .  The chemistry between the male and female leads of the story are exciting and thrilling as much as their romance. There's no fighting over whose in charge or coercing, its mutual and willing. The male lead may sacrifice his own current life to be with the siren, like in Nora Prentess and Out of the Past. It might be a bad choice one day in the future. Might lead to a happy ending, which doesn't always happen.  Furthermore, an old flame or thoughts of leaving current partner might surface, like in in Gilda and The Bri...

Why 'Basic Instinct's Catherine and Nick are a memorable (Neo) Film Noir couple

Image
The 1992 Erotic Neo Film Noir was both popular and controversial upon release. Not to mention a certain scene concerning the female main character during a police interrogation. The movie sparked real life outrage and similar crimes. But these topics are not what fans of the film think about. Rather, prefer to ignore. The chemistry and twist of fate between Nick Curran and Catherine Tramell is no better than Samson and Delilah from Biblical times. Both have done things in their past which parallels the other. Faced with danger and done things which others would shun them for. They both know a great deal about each other. Not to mention have a profound attraction.  To those around them, they feel this is a physical attraction which won't lead to anything. Or they are jealous and bitter like Roxy. A relationship like theirs is better off clandestine. A crooked and tormented cop and a femme fatale novelist, sounds like an interesting story. Since this tale is both alluring and t...

Why dating doesn't exist in Film Noirs

In the dating World, experts say destiny is nonexistent and everybody should be demanding perfection. Even going on to say dating itself is easy. Even being self absorb, manipulative and greedy should be condoned. Whether a popular trend or not, finding an ideal partner IS hard. Which is why most stay single. Films noirs  are a genre of movies which can either end with the male and female together or betraying. The word to describe how they meet isn't through dating. Rather fate but in a twisted way. The male lead is a man who'll do anything to keep the female lead who seduces him. She encourages him by her words and honesty. He has his job of which she doesn't criticize and he accepts her for who she is. They may be up to something which is no good, of course. However, that isn't what they feel for each other. They want a better life together and get away from the obstacles in the way. We as the audience can see that.  Their is a previous or potentially ending relation...

Romance between a man and a seductress

A seductress let's a man be who he is.  She doesn't force him to be something he isn't.  She isn't like any other female he's encountered who treated him with disrespect and disregard. Boundaries and self-worth are what separates her from others. She teases him with her sensuality and compliments.  The man in question isn't a deity.  To throngs of others, he's seen as one when he never asks for it.  In the eyes of the seductress, she sees a man who was irritated and likely heartbroken.  He is only a man of flesh and blood, he isn't Jesus.  When the man is alone with the seductress at long last He wants to give her a night she can never forget Where he willingly reveals his heart and soul as much as the chest of which he expose  He's found the right girl He doesn't care about her past as much as she does of his He isn't one for being judgmental nor is she Not many would accept either Forget about the others who reject them and move on ...

An Unlikely Romance

An Unlikely Romance  It is grotesque to know How someone can stoop so low How jealousy is the destroyer Pride cometh before the fall as once told by the Proverbs author  Like the story of Electra and Orestes, it has parallels with the Bible's Ahab and Jezebel Both plotting against someone who they should have thought twice to mess with The involvement of an reluctant Naboth would also come into account Deception to avoid the speculation Manipulation of the images and stories told Obsession and desperation to further recognition Greed of the social chameleon started moons ago  You cannot be with this person, you cannot be with that person Must show, my show this lie forever more Always about me, it must always appear to be about me and how wonderful I am Like Emma Bovary and Ellen Bernet gone mad A lie cannot live for an eternity Especially when those find things odd Nobody can deceive God A seductress encounters those like the villainous pairing...

Seduce her but CAN'T fight the LOVE that comes with it: According to films like 'Yolanda and the Thief' and 'Guys and Dolls'

Image
When we look at films like 'Yolanda and the Thief' and 'Guys and Dolls'. We don't see much similarities, both are musical romances which star famous singers who also are actors. The viewer would assume those are the only comparisons. But we do see something occur in these two different stories. In both movies, we see the lead male character seduces the female lead into trusting him, only with the intent of causing her some sort of pain. Johnny Riggs (Fred Astaire Yolanda and the Thief) and Sky Matheson (Marlon Brando in Guys and Dolls) both seduce with the purpose of a selfish and cruel intention. Speaking of the latter two words, the famous French novel, 'Les Liaisons Dangereuses' also is about a similar theme. Seducing with the intent of ruined, which are male lead of that story Valmont intends to do. But what do we see in these three different stories? Does the ruin even happen as intended? Instead, we see that the male lead is consume by a greater feel...

You're Doing it Wrong: Why THINKING of your partner can help in bedroom pleasure

Not into adult films nor using erotic toys?  There's one way to build up the mood and not having to feel ashamed of it.  Just THINK about your partner. Not just sexually, but on other aspects. How much they love you, look after you, trusting, accepting. When you ponder on those areas, then it increases while you're doing the act of pleasure.  As complex as it may sound, it's better than imagining an ex or someone famous.
