Why decades past are still worth talking about

Whether it's the beginning of the 20th century, 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s or 2010s; each decade has had memorable and talked about moments.

The fashion of the past, what everybody was wearing and continue to evolve. From the long to the mid length and to the short; from the pale solid from pastel and neon colors. The music had a distinctive sound and a catchy dance. The technology wasn't necessarily thousands of dollars, but anybody had, like that it was simple, carried in both hands. The films starred talented screen star were award winning and had great stories to tell, fictional or non fictional; all which lead to the creation of Turner Classic Movies.

The politics were often the talk of the town and sometimes drew debate. Whether a simple opinion or a scandal everyone had something to say. The TV series had great story lines and a terrific cast. Sad or funny; thrilling or suspenseful, there was something for everyone. The food was prepped by hand and actually tasted delicious, anyone notice the difference between certain fast food especially?

Everybody knew what product was worth buying from what wasn't. If it worked and was affordable, there was no issue. The homes and what was built outside were always made with quality. Specially if you couldn't travel somewhere to use something. Does anyone miss those tire swings their parents would make when they couldn't take them to the park?

There is so much to learn from the decades of the previous and of the beginning of this century. It's through history that we better understand why people still speak of it presently. To understand what made it important and how it impacts what is yet to come.
