One thing which appears in Marilyn Monroe's films
As to whether Norma Jean Mortensen (Baker) also known as (and more famously by) Marilyn Monroe would have lived to be a hundred is anyone's guess. Not only was she beautiful but talented, known throughout the World over. A huge fan or of just of some of her films, Marilyn films were both popular and have been a part of our culture for decades on end. Even if some new celebrity comes along who has comparisons to her fame and allure, there can only be ONE Marilyn. Anyone who had worked with her can tell you.
From 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' to 'Let's Make Love', her Comedy Romance films are memorable. One thing which stands out in these specific Marilyn's movies is this: A man changes his ways. Be it he was a jerk, obnoxious or lascivious he wouldn't have his way with her. Something she would say or an opinion would trigger in his mind and suddenly, he beings to reflect. They were no good, they almost lost control or lack the understanding of gentlemanly qualities in courting.
Some Like it Hot's Joe the Saxophone player, Seven Year Itch's Richard Sherman, and Bus Stop's Beauregard "Bo" Decker exhibit these insecurities. They let their crudeness, imagination and ignorance towards a gal was oblivious to them. But once they met Marilyn, things change for them, not by her forcing it or made it her job. They all MAN UP as the saying goes. Apologizing and realizing how foolish and awful their conduct was.
Despite films being so different than in Marilyn's time. There's something to learn from each of them.
